The GISS Improv Troupe has very close ties with Ladysmith Secondary School's drama department. GISS is also known for their excellent cafeteria and culinary program, which has won a $1500 grant towards their garden and school composting. ==Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts== (Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts (GISPA) ) offers advanced education in Music, Dance and Theatre for students in grades 9-12. A student enrolled in GISPA receives ongoing, comprehensive training, master classes and workshops with visiting professionals, performance opportunities in various showcases and main-stage productions, as well as attending several professional productions and performances in Victoria & Vancouver. GISPA students are given a unique opportunity. Together, we work on creating an original collective project between all three of our strands: Acting, Music and Dance. This means that our students work together, creating original music, choreography and scene-work geared towards a final year-end production.
